Band Changes
Springfield Ghost started up in early 2018 with four members. Before the first year ended, Zech joined the band as the fifth member, and an essential person to the development of our sound. Five years later, with the wrap of our second EP, Zech and Springfield Ghost have parted ways.
Zech contributed many amazing solos and left his fast, metal touch on many of our songs over the years, and we are extremely grateful to have his mark on two EPs bearing our name. You will still hear him on our second EP, and he delivers an incredible exit to his time with SfG.
Before anyone speculates, we are still friends and hang out! The reasons for the separation were more personal in nature, and not the result of any fights or major disagreements. Zech now plays guitar and sings for the band South Bridge, and you can check them out here on Facebook or Instagram by search “South Bridge Band.” Please do! Also, they're looking for a bass player if anyone is interested!
As for SfG, we're rocking out a third EP with just the four of us. Rather than take on the task of finding a new lead guitarist and catch them up on everything, we found it more responsible of our timelines (due to the delay of EP 2 discussed in the last post) to move on with the keyboard taking a more active role. Additionally, Zach, our rhythm guitarist, has broke into a new jam from these changes! Our sound is evolving as a result, but it's still definitely Springfield Ghost. It will be some time before we start sharing what's coming for EP 3, but trust us. It's good.
Lastly, we are almost ready to officially disclose the name of our second EP. Check back next week as we start our journey through this next EP and what led to it. If you're a fan of “behind the scenes” info, you won't want to miss it. Stay tuned!
