Ferris Wheel

Zech created the entire guitar track for Ferris Wheel in his own time, and surprised us with a sick tune that didn't stop. We broke it down and played through it until we had what you'll hear on the album. While breaking through the song together, I kept seeing a giant ferris wheel, with people around it having a blast, unaware of what was coming. I think it was the keyboard effect, which has a county fair feel to it.

I thought about that image for a while, and decided to write the lyrics around it. The ferris wheel became an analogy for entertainment and the world, while the operators became those I was screaming at in Ouroboros. It felt unnervingly accurate the more I built upon it. The world almost appeared to be a giant distraction while corporations bled us dry, convincing us that we wanted more. It was the next step in my journey, where I began to grasp the deep of the political scheme that kept the issue from being solved for the sake of profits.

And so Ferris Wheel was born. It was an instant favorite for the five of us, and one that we are very excited to share with you. If you've been enjoying these, there are three more to go! We'll be back with more next soon!
